A Confession, of sorts
I write fan fic. That’s a confession of guilt, mind you, not a declaration of pride. I might hope that I write GOOD fan fic… but that’s up to you.
I do not write it because I want to insert myself into a story: frankly, I’m boring, and you don’t want to read about me.
I do not write it because I want to change the characters into something they’re not: I embrace canon.
I write fan fic because, somewhere deep down, I feel I *HAVE* to. Sometimes it’s because a character particularly speaks to me and wants me to tell their story. Sometimes it’s because a story pops full grown into my head and I don’t have a choice. Sometimes it’s because my fans threaten to kill me if I don’t.
In the end, though, I write it because I enjoy it…
..and because the goblins make me do it.

Quite frankly, I never believed in fan fiction. It was something I regarded as disdainful and cheap. But when my friend sent me a link to your page and I began to read out of pure curiosity… I have been astounded. I beg you to finish Dangers Untold… is there any more? I have read Immortal Love and Dangers Untold all in one night, ravenously devouring them, unable to look away from my screen. I am amazed. I must admit I can’t believe how you have changed my perspective. I believe you have real talent, and I’m sure you’ve heard it countless times. The way you craft sexual tension reminds me of Anne Rice. You have stayed true to the characters – it is as if the Henson company had just on a whim put out a sequel to the movie (with mature undertones, though,
). I’ve suddenly become a fangirl – whoops. I just thought I’d give you my thanks and plead for a continuance of the story… the only fan fiction I’ve touched that grabbed at my attention and would not let it go. I apologise if I’m being annoying. But at very least I wanted you to know that you should keep writing – you’re extremely talented. Well, thank you, and good night.
